Jeremiah 3:19 NCV: “I, the Lord, said, ‘How happy I would be to treat you as my own children and give you a pleasant land, a land more beautiful than that of any other nation.’ I thought you would call me ‘My Father’ and not turn away from me”.
Right from the beginning, God planned for us to be his children and acknowledge him as a father. However, we lacked the capacity for that until Jesus appeared on the scene. He called him Father; thereby fulfilling God’s wish. By his death and resurrection, he has given us that same spirit which now enables us to call and acknowledge him as a father.
As the scripture rightly says: The Spirit we received does not make us slaves again to fear; it makes us children of God. With that Spirit, we cry out, “Father.” Romans 8:15 NCV
Today, let us acknowledge him as our father who loves us and will always be there for us. Let us reach out to him with our fears and worries. He is ready to meet us as the point our needs. Shalom!
Declare to yourself loud: Abbah Father! I love you. Hallelujah.
Thank you lord for the gift of your spirit which enables us to call you father. In Jesus Name. Amen.
