Acts 12:11-12 NLT: Peter finally came to his senses. “It’s really true!” he said. “The Lord has sent his angel and saved me from Herod and from what the Jewish leaders had planned to do to me!” When he realized this, he went to the home of Mary, the mother of John Mark, where many were gathered for prayer.
Today’s text recounts how the prayer of the believers saved Peter from prison where he was locked up to be put to death. The Bible says many gathered together in prayer for him.
When we are faced with some situations, many times we don’t remember the option of prayer until we have exhausted our own options. Some will even wonder if prayer can be of any use. But here we see the Angel of the lord intervening in the matter before Peter because of the prayers of the brethren.
Note that James was the first to be killed in like manner before Peter was then arrested to face the same fate. If the believers had done nothing, the same fate might have befallen Peter. But thank God they knew better. For the Lord said call unto me in times of trouble, and I will deliver you. Psalms 50:15
Always take the option of prayer before any other action whenever you are faced with any situation and he will keep to his words and deliver you from that situation. Glory.
Declare to yourself loud: I will call upon the name of the lord at all times. Hallelujah.
Lord Jesus, I pray for anyone connected to me that is in trouble and danger, deliver them all. In Jesus Name. Amen.
