Deuteronomy 4:1 NET: Now, Israel, pay attention to the statutes and ordinances I am about to teach you so that you might live and go on to enter and take possession of the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, is giving you.
My dear friend in Christ, we see God in our text today telling the people of Israel to pay close attention to his words and also to go, enter and take possession of what he has given to them, which is the promised land.
Taking possession has to do with evicting the previous occupants of a place and taking ownership of the place. We have a lot of inheritance in Christ when we became born again. These inheritance are written all over the scriptures but we will never know them unless we go back to his words in the scriptures and study them.
Many have been deprived of their inheritance in Christ due to their lack of knowledge. They are ravaged by sickness, poverty, depression, lack of peace of mind, etc. When the Lord God has made provisions for all of us to be in health, abundance, sound mind, and peace. These are his words in 3 John 1:2 YLT, “beloved, concerning all things I desire thee to prosper, and to be in health, even as thy soul doth prosper”. This passage doesn’t look like he wants us sick occasionally and to be in lack. This is God’s desire for us to be in health and prosper.
The Bible says that by his stripes, we were healed. 1 Peter 2:21. Meaning past event. It has been done therefore its now your inheritance. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says… He became poor that we might become rich.
Beloved, whatever that has taken possession of your inheritance, it’s time to take it back and drive the illegal occupants away. Sickness is an illegal occupant in your body. Poverty is an illegal occupant in your life. Rise up and take possession of your health, wealth, peace of mind and many more. You are blessed. Hallelujah
Declare to yourself loud: I am taking possession of my inheritance in Christ. Hallelujah.
Lord Jesus, I receive the grace and courage to take possession of all you have done for me. In Jesus Name. Amen.
