Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NCV: Today I ask heaven and earth to be witnesses. I am offering you life or death, blessings or curses. Now, choose life! Then you and your children may live. To choose life is to love the Lord your God, obey Him, and stay close to him. He is your life, and he will let you live many years in the land, the land he promised to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
My beloved friend in Christ, God is the source of our life. Without Him, we don’t have life. We see God in our text today presenting us the will to choose what we want; namely: Life or death, blessings or curses. God has never forced His will on man. Most people think that life is meant to be an autopilot and such is their life. Not knowing that we have a choice. We can decide to choose to live or not. We can decide to receive the blessings or settle in the curses.
We have clearly seen in our text today that to choose life is to love the Lord our God, obey him and stay close to him at all times. We do this by studying his words, praying and acting according to his words. Thinking of Him at all times and the great and marvelous things He has done for us. Ultimately praising him for giving us life.
I look forward to your firm trust in God to uphold you in all your ways of having chosen life and blessings. Shalom!
Declare to yourself loud: I have chosen life and blessings from the lord. Hallelujah.
Heavenly Father, I rejoice in the choice I have made in you. Help me to remain firm no matter what comes up against me. In Jesus Name. Amen.
