PSALMS 119:103 AMP: How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Looking at our text today, you may wonder how can words be sweet? But we see the psalmist describing the word of God as Sweet. Also, it’s not just sweet, but Sweeter than what man considers to be one of the sweetest products of our time (Honey). God’s word is different from a man’s word. Man’s words are filled with information that is injurious to the heart, can be irritating and certainly not pleasant to the ears. Man’s words are filled with darkness because it has no light in it.
God’s words, on the other hand, delights the soul because it is filled with light. The Bible says that the entrance of thy word brings light…Psalms 119:130. Notice that we are products of divine light and light generally excites particles along its path. When we come in contact with the light of God in his words, we cannot help but experience the sweetness and excitement that comes with it.
The Bible also calls the word, Food of our soul. Jeremiah 15:16-18. If that food is not sweet, then you must question the source because God’s word never changes. It is always sweet. Make up your mind to stay with the word and enjoy the sweetness therein. I call you blessed.
Declare to yourself loud: I meditate on your word day and night.
Lord Jesus, fill my soul with fresh words from you every day. In Jesus Name. Amen.
