PHILIPPIANS 4:8 AMP: Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].
My dear friend in Christ, what do you think about continually in your heart? Do you know that the Bible says that as a man thinket in his heart, so is he? Proverbs 23:7. The Bible also says that you should guard your heart deligently, for out of it are the issues of life. Proverbs 4:43.
This is why our study text today points us to what we ought to continually think about all the time. Most importantly it says, whatever that is right and confirmed by God’s word, think about it continually. Do not fill your heart with thoughts of fear, failure, regrets, anger and resentment. These will only destroy you and certainly has adverse effect on your healthy living. It also affect those around you one way or another.
If you have not been doing this, I appeal to you to start from today and make up your mind to start thinking upon God’s word for you, his promises for you, whatever that brings you joy in line with God’s word. I assure you that you will experience something remarkable over a period of time. Remember, be persistent and don’t allow the condition of things around you to distract you in this exercise. You are blessed.
Declare to yourself loud: I will guard my heart deligently.
Lord Jesus, I surrender my heart to you. Teach me to love daily. In Jesus Name. Amen.
