Mark 9:2-4 MSG: Six days later, three of them did see it. Jesus took Peter, James, and John and led them up a high mountain. His appearance changed from the inside out, right before their eyes. His clothes shimmered, glistening white, whiter than any bleach could make them. Elijah, along with Moses, came into view, in deep conversation with Jesus.
My dear friend in Christ, do you know that when you stay in the presence of God, you are changed gradually? This change will eventually be noticed even by people around you. You may not even notice it yourself but others will because you are now different. This was the experience of Jesus on the mountain where He was transfigured while praying. His desciples where the ones that noticed the change in Him. The experience was so glorious that they felt like staying in that experience forever.
Notice also that there was a divine encounter with the prophets of old: Moses and Elijah. The Bible records that they were in deep discussions with Him. This has many implications. One of which is that we can never die. We are only transformed or simply transited into another life when we leave this world. Secondly, in the place of prayer, God communicates back to us and we are actually in fellowship with the Heavenly beings. Hence prayer is not a complaint channel as many have assumed.
I encourage you today to learn to stay in His presence long enough every day of your life and you will surely experience the desired change in your life. I call you blssed.
Declare to yourself loud: I delight myself in the presence of the Lord.
Lord Jesus, may I long to be in your presence every day of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
