John 13:2 AMP: It was during supper, when the devil had already put [the thought of] betraying Jesus into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son.
My dear friend in Christ, what type of thoughts do you allow in your heart? The actions you witness today usually start from a thought in the heart. Sometimes it comes harmlessly while other times it is obvious that it will harm someone. But the majority of the time, the devil conceals the real consequences of such thoughts until you execute the thought you have nursed in your heart.
Today, we see that it was the devil that put the thought of betraying Jesus in the heart of Judas Iscariot. He must have felt it was justified by whatever reason because some of these thoughts come with “justifications” on why you should execute them. Unknown to him that he won’t survive the guilt and shame. He was blinded and enabled by the devil to carry out his actions. John 13:27.
Guard your thoughts jealously my dear friend. Delete any thought that is contrary to the word of God. Do not even entertain it or try to rationalize it. Simply delete because you may not survive the guilt and shame that it will bring to you and your family. Look at Philippians 4:8 AMP Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].
Declare to yourself loud: my heart is fixed on Heavenly things only.
Spirit of the Living God, guide my thoughts every day of my life. Never allow the evil one to highjack my thoughts. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
