Remain in Him!

John 15:5 NLT: “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.

My dear friend in Christ, do you know that the challenges we face in life are not the real problems? As a matter of fact, I dare to say that we have no problems at all as far as God is concerned. Will a child whose father left an inheritance of over a billion dollars say that he is facing a challenge of paying his rent, his school fees or feeding expenses? It means such a child does not understand what had been willed to him.

Jesus in our text today says that we’re capable of being fruitful. Not just being fruitful but bear much fruit. Meaning that we have the overflow and abundance ability. However, He gave a condition for which we can achieve this level of fruitfulness and that is if we remain in Him. Note that our remaining in Him is because He alone is the source and safety of all things that are seen and unseen. Therefore we are bound to fail if we don’t remain in Him.

The devil understand this very well and so he keeps you from remaining in him. He will haul challenges at you and choke you with the issues of life until you forget about God and even begin to question His ability to help you. This is the tragic reality we see in our world today. People don’t want to remain in Him in the study of the word. We prefer to rather chase after the signs, wonders and miracles which are the bye products of the word. Let us go back to Him in His word and remain there until we begin to bear fruits. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: I will remain in Him.

  1. My Lord and my God, teach me how to remain in you always, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
