The Blessing!

Genesis 48:15 NIRV: Then Israel gave Joseph his blessing. He said, “May God bless these boys. He is the God of my grandfather Abraham and my father Isaac. They walked faithfully with him. He is the God who has been my shepherd all my life right up to this day.

My dear friend in Christ, we have been taught right from infancy that what we truly have is what we can see with our eyes and our hands can handle. And also that anything outside of it, does not really belong to us. That is why people crave to acquire material possessions in order to make them feel successful and also when they are old, they can transfer it to their children. This is terrible error from the pit of hell.

What you truly have are actually the things that you cannot see with your eyes. No one can take it from you by force rather you are the one that can decide to give it out or not. On the other hand the physical things you acquire can be taken away from you and handed over to another. Thereby dispossessing you of what you claimed is for you.

Jacob understood this truth and decided to give out what he has to his grand children. It is called the blessing. Both the one that gives and the one that receives can not see what is being transferred. However, the effect of it could be felt and seen all through their life time. It is also interesting to note that what is being transferred is in an unlimited supply and cannot be exhausted. Hence can be transferred over and over again. It is called the blessing.

If you study the previous chapters of Genesis looking at the life of Jacob, you will see how that the blessing made him a success, kept him in safety, made him very fruitful in everyway and so on. I challenge you therefore to go after the blessing so that your life will be a living wonder and you can also be a blessing to others. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: I have the blessing in Christ Jesus.
