The courage to face your fears!

Matthew 26:1‭-‬2 MSG: When Jesus finished saying these things, he told his disciples, “You know that Passover comes in two days. That’s when the Son of Man will be betrayed and handed over for crucifixion.”

My dear friend in Christ, as children of God, there will be a time when we will go through diverse tests as it pertains to the faith that we profess. It will require courage which stems from the grace of God to face such fears and overcome it. Being a child of God doesn’t exempt one from such tribulations rather, we rely on the grace of God to pull through.

Jesus had to face one of such situations in His time. Try and imagine what it feels like to be fully aware of your death (shameful death at that) and yet remaining calm. The strength to see such coming and yet not running away is beyond human strength alone. God’s grace is certainly required. In addition, to think that His own will be the one to betray Him was even more painful.

Today, when you go through life threatening situations for the sake of the gospel or even betrayal by your own family or even fellow believers, don’t give up. Know that Jesus went through similar things and has assured you that He has overcome the world.

Declare to yourself loud: His grace is sufficient for me.

  1. Almighty God, give me the grace to be face my fears on account of the gospel, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
  2. Please add your personal intentions.
