Titus 1:2 NLT: This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God—who does not lie—promised them before the world began.
When you ask people if they are confident of their salvation. Many often reply that they are not sure. This is because they lack certain truth about the word of God which clearly states how God makes people right with himself. They keep looking at their daily actions and conclude that they may never make it to heaven. Meaning that they may never be saved. This uncertainty affects their lifestyle.
Paul in his writings to Titus, reminded him of the truth that gives people confidence of their salvation. We were not saved by our works rather by the sure mercy of God. This is what he said in Titus 2:11, 14. “For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.”
Once you believe in what Jesus has done and confess Him as the Lord of your life, you are saved. Romans 10:9 This confidence will begin to reflect in your life. You will become conscious of your actions knowing your new identity. God cannot lie. This is how He has decided to save man even before the world was made as seen in our text today. Don’t ever doubt again whether you are saved or not. Be committed to doing good deeds. Trust in God who is able to keep you until He returns. . Shalom.
Declare to yourself loud: I am confident of my salvation.
Lord Jesus, help me to be committed in doing good deeds according to your divine purpose for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
