2 Timothy 2:15 NLT: Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.
My dear friend in Christ, reading through this scripture might begin to raise questions in the minds of some who feel that Christ has done it all and we don’t need to do anything to gain God’s approval. Well, what is written in this passage is the truth. You need to play your own part in the equation.
Jesus did all for you so you can do all for him. Selfish people will only hold on to the all Jesus did for them but they have nothing to show as to what they are willing to do for him. This is where gaining God’s approval comes in. Are you willing to do all for Him, how far are you willing to go? You will gain His approval if you give all to him. No approval for you if you you are not willing to give all to him Him.
Jesus is not demanding some things from you rather he wants all of you. He said if you are not willing to give you all, you are not worthy to be his disciple hence no approval for you. Mathew 16:24. Knowing God is the ultimate way to loving and serving Him. And so when you give up yourself in the study of the word of God, you will surely gain His approval. Unlike others who don’t really care about the word of God. They are rather seeking men’s approval.
Don’t wallow in the fallacy that Christ did all and so there is nothing to do again. Get up and play your part in the work of God. He needs you to reach out to others and also allow your life to be an epistle for others to read and emulate. I call you blessed.
Declare to yourself loud: I will study to show myself approved.
- Merciful Father, may I not be ashamed of my works on the day of judgement when every man’s work will be tested, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
