1 John 2:1 NLT: My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.
My dear friends in Christ, now that you are born again, the devil will try hard to haunt you with sin consciousness. Telling you that you are not fit to be called a child of God. But don’t allow it because you have an advocate who pleads for you with the father. Jesus Christ our Lord. For he knows our weaknesses.
As a young believer, you are still trying to let go of your old habits. No one expects you to instantly leave all behind… It’s a gradual process and God is ready to go through the process with you.
So when you make mistakes and fall back to those old habits, don’t stay down and away from the brethren. Continue with the study of the word and prayer in fellowship. Before you know it, you will no longer struggle with those old habits again.
Declare to yourself loud: I have an advocate with the father. I am letting go of my old habits. I am a child of God. Hallelujah.
My father my advocate, thank you for your patience with me in this journey of Salvation. Help me as I let go of my old habits that are not pleasing to you. In Jesus name. Amen.
