Luke 18:29‭-‬30 MSG: “Yes,” said Jesus, “and you won’t regret it. No one who has sacrificed home, spouse, brothers and sisters, parents, children—whatever—will lose out. It will all come back multiplied many times over in your lifetime. And then the bonus of eternal life!”

The quest for material acquisition today is seriously on the increase with many people filling their minds with thoughts that they are actually acquiring it for themselves and for their unborn generations. The need to sacrifice for the sake of the kingdom seems to have gone into the oblivion. Everyone is hustling trying to get this and that. Some are trying to get house, wife, children, cars, etc; by any means. Some follow God with their terms and conditions about their families. Literally saying to God: I will only serve you if you bless me with my needs concerning my family (husband, wife, children).

Today, we see Jesus assuring us that the only way to get all these things and even in abundance is through sacrifice for the sake of the kingdom. Hand all of them to Him as a sacrifice and He said you will get it all back in multiple folds. Not just in this life but in the life to come. This life is called eternal life. That is why He keeps saying, seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and every other thing shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33.

My dear friend in Christ, nothing should come in between you and your God. Not father, mother, brother, sister, wife, husband or children. Serve the Lord with all your heart. For God is our maker and unto Him, we shall return when this temporal life is over. You cannot go back to Him saying that you were unable to serve Him because of family. He Himself had said give it all up for Him and you won’t regret it. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: I will serve the Lord my God no matter the circumstances.

Heavenly Father, help me not to allow anything or anyone stop hinder me from serving you, my God. In Jesus Name. Amen.
