command

John 14:15 CEV: Jesus said to his disciples: If you love me, you will do as I command.

My dear friend in Christ, today’s message is very straight forward. The proof that you really love the master Jesus is to do as He commands. In the realm of the spirit, the proof of love is not affection, or sweet words crafted by human wisdom or even sacrifice of whatever resources (money, houses, cars etc) to God; rather it is simply obedience to the word of God. No wonder the Bible says to obey is better than sacrifice. 1 Samuel 15:22.

When you obey, you accept the Lord as your Master as you have declared when you became a believer. Love for the Lord becomes your motivation for doing exactly what He wants you to do rather than the fear of hell. When you also obey, you accept that His decisions are best for you knowing that He is God Almighty who cannot make mistakes. We sometimes argue or disobey when we don’t believe that the instructions given to us is favorable or fair. But that should not be so with the Lord Jesus.

Don’t wait for Jesus to come down from heaven to ask you to obey Him. Look into His Word (the Bible) for direction and listen to His spirit in you and obey what you are asked to do. He will never ask you to do anything contrary to His word. If you get a leading in your spirit to do anything, simply align it with God’s Word. If it doesn’t add up or align perfectly, simply ignore it knowing that it’s not from God. On the other hand, if it’s in line with God’s word, then do it without hesitation and God will be pleased with you. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: I delight in the commands of the Lord.
