Matthew 7:13-14 MSG: “Don’t look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don’t fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires total attention.
My dear friend in Christ, know today that there are no shortcuts to God. So anyone looking for shortcuts to God, is certainly wasting time. Even when they are getting what seems to be the desired results, it is certainly not coming from God and will soon destroy them. Unfortunately, many desire this path but unknown to them, it leads to destruction.
If you really want to come to God, make up your mind because it is certainly rigorous and requires total attention as Jesus Himself puts it in today’s text. That’s why He calls it the narrow way. Don’t pay attention to the crowd, seeking to go through the easy path, stay focused on the goal. It will require quality time with Him and not at your spare time.
You don’t pray at your spare time, or come to church at your spare time or even study the word at your spare time. You have to deliberately make out time for all of these even when it’s not convenient for you. That’s the only way you can achieve a meaningful relationship with your God. I call you blessed.
Declare to yourself loud: I will deligently seek you every day of my life.
Heavenly Father, I give all to you because they belong you. Take over my life, my time, my money, my sleep, my pride and my desires. In Jesus Name. Amen.
