Ezekiel 3:1 NLT: The voice said to me, “Son of man, eat what I am giving you—eat this scroll! Then go and give its message to the people of Israel.”
My dear friend in Christ, you cannot give what you don’t have. Today we see God asking His servant Ezekiel the priest to first eat His word. After that, He said he is to go and deliver its message to the people. Many do not know that the word of God can sustain a man. The Bible says in Deuteronomy 8:3 “… people do not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord”.
The study of the word of God is not meant for Bible students alone or the ministers of God. It is meant for every child of God because it will be the reason why you are preserved and not yet consumed. It is the source of your strength and sustenance just as the physical food you eat on a daily basis. No one eats the food of tomorrow our next week today. Rather, as the day goes by, you feed to keep you alive.
When you don’t feed on the word of God, you will begin to die spiritually. You won’t notice it until a challenge comes your way only to discover that you have no capacity to overcome such a challenge. Some people die in the process while others narrowly escape by the sure nerves of God. Be wise and make up a plan of daily study of the word of God and you will live a life full of wonders. Remember also preach it after you feed on it. Shalom.
Declare to yourself loud: your word is food to be my soul.
1. Heavenly Father, cause hunger for your word to arise in me and feed me with words from your mouth, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.
