Luke 23:13-14 CEV: Pilate called together the chief priests, the leaders, and the people. He told them, “You brought Jesus to me and said he was a troublemaker. But I have questioned him here in front of you, and I have not found him guilty of anything that you say he has done.
My dear friend in Christ, have you been in a situation where you were falsely accused especially by your own family and friends? The shock and disappointment is hard to describe. That was the situation Jesus found Himself in our text today. Know that our master has also suffered the same fate from His own people for whom He has been so kind and helpful.
What is your response when you’re in situations like this? Let God be your witness and your avenger. Do not allow sin to control your actions by taking laws into your own hands. My recommendation is to do exactly what Jesus did. He said to them after everything they did to him. “Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” And the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.”
Luke 23:34 NLT. Don not even give in to swearing before any diety just to clear your name or reputation.
Nothing is more important than your relationship with God. Your reputation is immaterial when it comes to Jesus. He never allowed His ego to come between Him and his Father. So it should be with you. Consider Him above everything else. Don’t mind what they say. God, Himself will preserve you.
Declare to yourself loud: Father, forgive them.
1. My Father and my God, forgive all who have accused me wrongly and also forgive me where I have accused others wrongly.
2. Precious Holy Spirit, teach me to be cautious before making accusations, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
3. Please add your personal intentions.
