Acts of the Apostles 1:6 NIV: Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”
My dear friend in Christ, today we see the Apostles of Jesus asking him a question that clearly exposed their ignorance of why Jesus came. They were expecting Jesus to restore the Kingdom back to Israel. Israel has been under the rule of the Romans. They thought God’s kingdom was an earthly kingdom. The same applies to many other people today. They are so concerned about their lives here and their possessions.
Jesus himself said John 18:36 when He was being interrogated by Pilate saying: “My Kingdom is not an earthly kingdom. If it were, my followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. But my Kingdom is not of this world.” The moment we realize that we don’t belong here even though we are here, it will help you to free up your mind from unnecessary burdens that you have placed on yourself.
There is absolutely no need to fight over anything in this world. They will all perish someday. Fight rather for the imperishables. Our kingdom is not of this world. Our source and supply is also not of this world. God is our source. And so you can never run dry. Place your hope in Him that He is your source and sustainer. He is the source of your health. He is the source of your provisions. He is the source of your finances. What is not found in Him cannot be found in you. With that in mind, you will have peace knowing that you will never run out of supply.
Declare to yourself loud: I belong to God’s kingdom.
1. My Father and my God, may your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
2. Precious Holy Spirit, fill me with your peace knowing that you are my source and sustainer, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
3. Please add your personal intentions.
