Deuteronomy 8:17-18 GNT: So then, you must never think that you have made yourselves wealthy by your own power and strength. Remember that it is the Lord your God who gives you the power to become rich. He does this because he is still faithful today to the covenant that he made with your ancestors.
Oftentimes when people make it and become rich in life, they brag about it thinking to themselves that their skills and experiences made them who they are. But you see from today’s text that they are wrong. God alone gives the power to become rich. He is the creator of all things that are seen and not seen.
This does not mean that you should not acquire skills and be hardworking. However, the Bible says you should remember and acknowledge God who made it possible for you to be where you are today. Also, do not envy those who acquire riches by defrauding others, they are already judged. Rather depend solely on God for your riches in this life. Praise God.
Declare to yourself loud: I have dominion over all things. Hallelujah.
Heavenly Father, I give you praise for you have given me authority over all things in this life. Help me to walk worthy of your desires for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
