Mark 15:19 AMP: They kept beating Him on the head with a reed and spitting on Him, and kneeling and bowing in [mock] homage to Him.
My dear friend in Christ, the day it dawns in your spirit exactly what Jesus went through for you, that is the day you will hate anything that offends Him and do all you can to avoid them. Going through our text today, you can imagine what you were meant to suffer on account of your wickedness and sins. But Jesus stepped in for your, taking upon Himself all the punishment due for you. Imagine hitting someone on the head many times and even imagine yourself being spat upon by someone you feel should respect you either because of your age or position in life.
Jesus our savior is God made flesh who decided to take the form of a man and letting go every right due to Him for His love for mankind. He took away your punishment. He paid for it in full. What follows now is our reactions towards all that He went through for us. We must develop an attittue of gratitude to Him for enduring such a shame and pain. Also learning from the way He handled every attempt to make Him retaliate. He said nothing and never returned our evil to us. He rather asked the Lord to forgive us. Luke 23:34.
In life, you must never loose sight or focus of your goal. His goal was right ahead of Him and nothing they did to him could make Him loose focus. Nothing should make you loose focus. It does not matter what is thrown at you. It does not matter how unpleasant it is. Stay focused. You will surely triumph in victory. I call you blessed.
Declare to yourself loud: Jesus is my burden bearer.
- Lord Jesus, you took my punishment upon yourself, help me never to forget what you suffered for me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
- Please add your personal intentions.
