Mark 6:3 AMP: Is this not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are His sisters not here with us?” And they were [deeply] offended by Him [and their disapproval blinded them to the fact that He was anointed by God as the Messiah].

My dear friend in Christ, there are people who relate with you based on your pedigree. They feel your past should determine your future. And so they don’t believe anything new can come out of you. This is the mindset the relations of Jesus had when He was with them in the flesh. Unknown to them, when a man is anointed by God, he becomes God’s vessel and does only what God commands him to do. The past can no longer be used to judge his future.

They scoffed at Jesus because they knew his family (his mother all his brothers and sisters). Perhaps they expected the messiah not to have siblings or even born into a natural earthly family. That would make sense to everyone. But God decided otherwise. He made Jesus to have siblings and that did not go down well with the Jews who expected otherwise. Perhaps they expected the messiah to fall from the sky in a Supernatural way. They forgot that God uses the foolish things of this world to shame the wise. 1 Corinthians 1:27

If God were to act in the way man will want or understand, then where is the need for faith? Faith is only required when you don’t fully understand but yet believe since it is coming from God. That is why the Bible says that without faith you cannot please God. Hebrews 11:6. He wanted man to believe Jesus even in the condition they found Him. Born in a Manger into an earthly family. Due to familiarity, they missed out on the opportunity to worship Him.

I don’t know if you have similar mindset of disregarding those you feel you know too well but are now ministers of the word of God. It is time you start listening to them and seeing God in them in order for you to obtain your miracles. Avoid trivializing the grace of God upon a man simply because you know him. Believe the God they preach and do the work of God they want you to do while anchoring your faith in God. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: I will not trivialize the grace of God upon any man.

1. Oh Lord my God, may I not take for granted your servants due to over familiarity and miss out on your blessings for me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.
