Matthew 4:4 MSG: Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy: “It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God’s mouth.”

Jesus was very clear when He made the above statement that it takes more than bread to stay alive. We need steady stream of words from God’s mouth to stay alive. What this means is that those who care less about the word of God are actually dieing gradually even without knowing. Secondly, it is a great mistake to think that you can sustain your life by what you eat and drink alone especially when you feel you have the money, and you can eat and drink whatever you want.

God is life. His words are spirits and are life. It is this life that keeps you going. There are people who feed well, yet they are dead and gone. The Bible says that the word of God is life and medicine to those who find it. Proverbs 4:22. Do not depend solely on what you eat and drink. Depend rather on God who is able to sustain your life. The devil wants you dead so he keeps distracting you from all that concerns the word of God. Decide today to get constant streams of the word of God and your life will never be the same.

Declare to yourself loud: I am alive by the word of God.

Heavenly Father, thank you for your word that has kept me alive. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
