Matthew 5:23‭-‬24 NLT: “So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.

My dear friend in Christ, it is imperative that you let go of the animosity you have against anyone. Our world is witnessing an unprecedented level of hate for one another. People constantly find reasons to hate instead of love. People get angry over the most insignificant things even inside the church of God. Lack of forgiveness and reconciliation is potent cancer that will eventually eat you up over time. It is usually unnoticed until the havoc is done.

For this reason, the son of man (Jesus) was made manifest to reconcile us back to God by his sufferings and shameful death on the cross. He did it for you, why can’t you do it for others? It is tantamount to wickedness and injustice if the Lord has forgiven you and yet you refuse to forgive others for whatever reason. There is no justification anymore for unforgiveness no matter the gravity of the offense by your neighbor. It all ends here in this world. You will not take your unforgiving spirit with you to heaven. It only condemns you to eternal damnation.

That is why Jesus pointed out that even God will reject your gift no matter how huge your sacrifice is. He commands you to go and reconcile before coming back to him. No child of God should harbor unforgiveness beyond the end of the day. As difficult as it is, you must fight it. It is also a way of dealing with your pride and killing of self which is a major hindrance to your relationship with God. You can be angry once in a while but always deal with it. No one will ever satisfy you completely in every way. Always remember that man was created to be inadequate and so prone to error unless fully aligned with the Holy Spirit. Until then, please manage each other’s excesses and God will bless you. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: I will not let unforgiveness destroy me.
