1 Corinthians 6:7-8 MSG: These court cases are an ugly blot on your community. Wouldn’t it be far better to just take it, to let yourselves be wronged and forget it? All you’re doing is providing fuel for more wrong, more injustice, bringing more hurt to the people of your own spiritual family.
My beloved friend in Christ, what are you willing to let go for the sake of Christ? When you are defrauded, cheated or unjustly treated, are you willing to let go for the sake of Christ? This is a hard truth (teaching) for many believers. Jesus our master suffered the same fate while He was on earth but here is His approach to it as it was recorded in Luke 23:34 ” And Jesus prayed, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. And they divided His garments and distributed them by casting lots for them.”
You might begin to wonder, does it mean that we should not seek justice? Not at all. However, if it will lead to greater injustice, hatred, death of other people, then it is better to let go for the sake of Christ. Jesus has shown us an example. He was innocent, yet He was accused, beaten, spatted upon, humiliated and finally hunged on the cross and killed. Instead of raining curses on His assailants, He rather prayed for them. If you decide otherwise and behave like the unbelievers, what reward will you expect from your Heavenly Father? Every believer is a part of your spiritual family. Treat one another as such and pray always for each other. Shalom.
Declare to yourself loud: I will let it go for the sake of Christ.
1. Holy Spirit, help me to let go of any hurt done to me for the sake of Christ.
2. Oh Lord, cause believers to treat one another with love.
3. Lord Jesus, keep me safe from wicked and unreasonable men. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
4. Please add your personal intentions.
