1 Samuel 16:7 NLT: But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
My dear friend in Christ, our world is full of canal men who want to see before they can believe. As a result, all their senses of judgment lie only in what they can see. They lack the capacity to look beyond what they can see with their eyes, namely the heart. It is impossible to make sound decisions based on appearance. It’s like judging someone who is putting on a mask. The mask must be removed before a sound judgment can be reached.
Appearance is surely deceptive and God does not judge by appearance. He looks at the Heart of men while making His judgment. Today, we are encouraged to look at the Heart as God Himself does. You can put up appearances but the heart cannot be covered with a mask. It is always open. Ask God for the wisdom and insight to look beyond what you can see with your physical eyes whenever you meet people. It will save you a lot from evil and unreasonable people.
Declare to yourself loud: I will look beyond what I can see with my physical eyes.
1. Heavenly Father, help me to look beyond physical appearances.
2. Precious Holy Spirit, disconnect me from unreasonable men who smile at me but wish me dead in their hearts, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
3. Please add your personal intentions.
