Mark 11:17 KJV: And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.
My dear friend in Christ, the physical building designated as God’s house is a symbol of God’s real house which is the body of Christ. Look at what the Bible says in John 2:21 “But the temple Jesus meant was his own body.” This is what He meant when he said tear down this temple and I will raise it up in three days. Now that we are His children, our bodies are also the temple of the living God.
Therefore, what you do with this temple matters before God. Just as the physical temple must be respected and treated as sacred, the real temple which is our bodies must be respected and treated as such. It should never be used for anything outside of God’s plan and character. Jesus said it should be known as a house of prayer.
When you pray all the time, you are fulfilling the prophetic statement that God’s house shall be called a house of prayer. Therefore, evil desires, negative spirits can no longer have a dwelling space in your bodies. When you are always on fire in prayers, nothing evil can remain in your body. This is because you will always be attracting the presence of God in your body. The contrary is the case for those who do not pray always. They allow evil to thrive in their bodies. This results in unpleasant things happening in their lives.
As a believer, make it a point of duty to always pray not just once or twice in a day but as often as you can. Drop the religious mindset that my morning and evening prayer is enough. Pray in your office, pray in your school, pray in the market etc. The enemy will find no place in your house. Shalom.
Declare to yourself loud: I will pray at all times.
1. Precious Holy Spirit, help me never to desecrate your house, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.
