The Lord’s day is close at hand!

0
judgment

Joel 2:1 AMPC: BLOW THE trumpet in Zion; sound an alarm on My holy Mount [Zion]. Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of [the judgment of] the Lord is coming; it is close at hand.

My beloved friend in Christ, it appears many no longer care about the judgment day of the Lord, looking at the way they go about their lives. Many assume that the gospel of grace is a license to commit all sorts of evil before God and get away with it. This of course normally arises from poor knowledge of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and also refusing to grow in it. Today’s message is clearly reminding us to be careful as the day is fast approaching and the time is short.

I have news for you: a day is coming when we will account for what we have done. Look at what the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:10 AMP: For we [, believers will be called to account and] must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be repaid for what has been done in the body, whether good or bad [that is, each will be held responsible for his actions, purposes, goals, motives—the use or misuse of his time, opportunities and abilities].

I appeal to you my dear friend, take this warning seriously. Discover God’s purpose for your life and seek God’s help to fulfill it. Don’t go about living a careless life hoping that all is well after all Jesus has paid the price. You cannot do it without God’s grace. He is ready to help you. Simply say Holy Spirit, guide my thoughts, words, and actions. Help me to do the will of the Father. In Jesus Name. Amen. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: I will fulfill God’s purpose for my life here on earth.

PRAYERS
Spirit of the Living God, guide me as I seek to do the will of the Father. May I never give up on the Faith which was handed down to me. This year is my year of divine upliftment. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Do not let your hard work be wasted!

1 Thessalonians 3:5 ICB: This is why I sent Timothy to you, so that I could know about your faith. I sent him when I could not wait any longer. I was afraid that the devil had tempted you, and perhaps our hard work would have been wasted.

My dear friend in Christ, today’s message is another reminder that life is not ordinary. For those who think that we are alone in this world and are responsible for every thing that happens in our lives, they are mistaken. We surely have an invisible enemy who is constantly seeking to waste your hard work and efforts either directly or through other people.

Paul acknowledged this fact when he sent Timothy to the Thessalonian church to find out how they were fairing in their faith. The devil is after one thing: your faith in God. He knows that once it is destroyed, you will ultimately fail in all aspects of your life. Therefore he targets everything that concerns faith in your life. Knowing this strategy, Paul wasted no time in making sure that it did not happen to the brethren.

Child of God, if you ignore this truth or even waste time to act, you will discover that all your hard work has been wasted. Utterly destroyed and you may have to start all over again. This is why you must wake up to this truth that we actually have an invisible enemy seeking to frustrate your life. The good thing about all this is that he can be stopped by your actions through the Lord Jesus. Constantly keep him away from you and all you have achieved. Never ever give room for the devil. You will always be victorious over Satan for Jesus has won the victory for you. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: my hard work will not be wasted.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Oh Lord my God, expose every satanic plot to destroy or waste my hard work, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

Use your profession to serve God!

0

Titus 3:13 NLT: Do everything you can to help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos with their trip. See that they are given everything they need.

My dear friend in Christ, today’s text pointed out a man whose profession did not stop him from actively participating in the work of the ministry. His name is Zenas. He worked closely with Apollos and Titus admonished the people to take good care of them and their needs as they carryout the work of God.

You are here in this world not to be anything but to serve God. You are not here to become a lawyer, a banker, a teacher, a doctor etc. They are all good but they are actually a platform for you to preach the gospel and witness for Christ. When you are deceived into thinking that all that matters is for you to focus only on your profession and rise to the pinnacle of it, then you will be lost. When death comes calling perhaps at your old age, you will suddenly discover that you did nothing for God while you were young and working. And at that point you cannot do much again and most people end up with regrets.

Today’s message is a sharp reminder that your primary duty is to dedicate your life and your profession to the service of God. Ensure that you take God first and not your profession. Only God can last you a lifetime and after life. Your profession will only end here and its temporal. Why spend all your energy and time on what will not last. That is the height of deception and many have fallen for it. Child of God, wake up and make a decision today to allow God use you through your profession to bless the lives of His people while you are still alive. I call you blessed.

Declare to yourself loud: my profession is secondary to God’s work.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Heavenly Father, open my eyes to the ways I can use my profession to serve you better in this life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

Believe and see the glory of God!

0

John 11:40 NLT: Jesus responded, “Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believe?”

My dear friend in Christ, we often claim to believe in the Lord Jesus until we are faced with real-life challenges especially the ones that have lingered for a while. At that point, we begin to wonder if God is still faithful to do what He says He would do for His children. This is the situation that Martha found herself when her brother had died for four days and Jesus was just showing up.

Jesus expressly told her the condition for which she will see the glory of the Lord and that is if she can only believe in Him. Whatever that seeks to attack your belief system is actually shutting you out of God. You cannot succeed unless you rest your belief in God. He is ever ready to reveal His glory to you. Moreso, if there are no challenges, how will you appreciate the glory of God. See every challenge as an opportunity for God to reveal His glory.

Make up your mind not to cry again for any challenge that comes your way. Rather, use it to call upon the name of the Lord and you will see His glory. Do not say I have already done that. Be persistent in your request until you see it. It won’t cost God anything to reveal His glory. And so I encourage you to be strong and always look for opportunities to experience the Glory of God. I call you blessed.

Declare to yourself loud: I believe in you oh Lord.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Oh Lord my God, may I experience your glory every day of my life in all my challenges, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

Don’t complain!

0

Lamentations 3:39 AMPC: Why does a living man sigh [one who is still in this life’s school of discipline]? [And why does] a man complain for the punishment of his sins?

My dear friend in Christ, life is a school where we all must pass through. And in every school, there are disciplinary measures designed to keep the students in check when they violate the laws of the school. So it is with life. Make no mistakes that you are free to do what you want in this life. Also, know today that there are laws governing life and there are consequences designed in response to any form of violation of these laws.

As a child of God, you must undergo this process because you are still human. If you violate any of the laws governing life, there is a punishment waiting for you. It might take some time or it can be immediate. Therefore be careful about your life and don’t complain when you are being disciplined. It is for your benefit. However, know that you have an advantage over the unbeliever who also has to go through the same process.

Your advantage as a believer is the Holy Spirit who is always there to help you go through the challenges. Furthermore, the mercy of God if employed can bypass certain punishment which you are meant to suffer because of what Christ has already suffered for you. However, you must ask for it. Jesus said that you should approach the throne of grace and obtain mercy. Hebrews 4:16. Therefore, if you fail to do so, He cannot force His mercy on you.

In conclusion, do your best to follow God’s way instead of the world. Don’t complain when God disciplines you. Ask for mercy from the Lord knowing that He will grant it to you and provide a means of escape from your challenges. I call you blessed.

Declare to yourself loud: I won’t complain anymore.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Precious Holy Spirit, guide me through life that I may endure the pains that come from the Lord’s discipline, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

A time of testing!

0

Revelation 3:10 ICB: You have followed my teaching about not giving up. So I will keep you from the time of trouble that will come to the whole world. This trouble will test those who live on earth.

My dear friend in Christ, no one is approved without testing. Only a test can reveal if you are qualified for something or not. Some believers assume that because they are now in Christ, they will escape the great testing that will come upon all those who are living on the earth as the scripture has stated today. Well, get ready because we all will be tested.

Why should a test come to someone who is not even participating in a contest or competition? It does not work that way. The test only comes to those who are participating in a competition. Those who desire to get something as a reward. So it is in the heavenly race. Unbelievers have already been tested and condemned. No further test is needed for them. On the other hand, a test is required of believers who desire to be with the Lord their God.

Furthermore, when Satan was thrown down from heaven due to rebellion, he swore to persecute those who chose to follow the Lord. Therefore, as a child of God, be vigilant and do not give up in the face of trials. All you need is to keep the word of God and He promised to help you when that time comes. Notice that He never promised to stop the great testing that will come upon the earth rather He will protect those who keep His word. The Lord will help you in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Declare to yourself loud: my God will protect me in time of trials.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Precious Holy Spirit, give me the strength to persevere in the face of trials, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

He knows our every weakness!

0

Hebrews 4:15 AMP: For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin.

Child of God, you might wonder why you keep failing to reach perfection. It is because you are still putting on the corrupt flesh as human. As long as you are in this body, you will always be prone to mistakes and temptations. Do not imagine that you are immune to temptations. They will always come around to test your faith in God.

Thank God for Jesus, who came as man and had to feel exactly what it means to be human. The Bible recorded today that He was tempted in every way but He never sinned. He was full of grace. He was fully obedient to the will of the father and so He never offended the father (sin). We on our part, we disobey the father every day due to our weakness as human beings.

Therefore, acknowledge this truth that you are grossly weak and incapable of helping yourself and then ask Jesus to step in and help you. Unless you ask, you cannot receive. And you cannot claim to have asked for mercy and forgiveness yesterday and so there is no need for asking again today. Every day is new before God according to the time of life. No one can get even recieve salvation without asking for it. So it is with forgiveness. That’s why the Bible says in Proverbs 28:13 that He that covereth his sins shall not prosper.

This should come from a sincere heart for change and should not be a religious routine. It is also not a mandate to continue without caution to break God’s law in the name of He understands. If you do so, you are in danger of death and losing your faith. Do your best to stay close to Jesus in prayers and study of the word and God will always be there to help you improve and be better. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: Jesus knows my weakness.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Precious Holy Spirit, help me to sincerely stay away from all that offends you my God, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

Prove your repentance by your actions!

0

Matthew 3:8 AMP: So produce fruit that is consistent with repentance [demonstrating new behavior that proves a change of heart, and a conscious decision to turn away from sin];

My dear friend in Christ, it is good for one to declare that he / she has repented but it will only be complete when the declaration is shown in action. One cannot claim to have encountered God and his life does not show it. The Bible is letting us know that we must prove that we have really repented by our change of hearts and behavior. The fruits we bear must be consistent with our believe.

Jesus said in Matthew 7:16 “by their fruits, you shall know them…” meaning that the fruits you produce is a direct report card of your state of mind and believe in God. Do not decieve yourself saying “all that matters is my belief and not my actions”. Well, your action matter. Only God can see your belief but man can see your fruits and give glory to God.

You need to make a conscious decision to turn away from sin and anything that offends God. It should be a deliberate move to remain on the side of the truth no matter what you are facing. All you need is to make an attempt and you will see God take over and help you accomplish your mission in life. But first, you must make yourself available before God can step in. Be strong in the Lord and do your best to serve Him.

Declare to yourself loud: my actions are consistent with my beliefs.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Precious Holy Spirit, take over my actions, and make me produce fruits that are pleasant to you, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

Look beyond the challenge!

0

John 11:4 NLT: But when Jesus heard about it he said, “Lazarus’s sickness will not end in death. No, it happened for the glory of God so that the Son of God will receive glory from this.”

My dear friend in Christ, we live in a world where challenges are encompassing around us every moment. Our reaction to it is what defines who we are. Jesus in our text today heard about the health challenge of his friend Lazarus. Instead of painting a negative picture or speaking negatively about the issue, He saw the glory of the Lord that will be revealed as a result of the challenge.

We are called upon to look beyond the challenges we are facing. Know that there is a God that is bigger than that challenge. If there are no challenges, what will you testify about that the Lord has done? Only those who go through challenges and come out victorious are celebrated.

Whatever your challenge is today, I dare you to look at the challenge and declare that my God is bigger than you. Believe in your heart that the glory of God will be seen at the end. Refuse to believe every lie of the enemy. He will make you feel that you may not survive or you will experience shame and disgrace. The enemy will even accuse you of being the cause of the challenge. But hear me, child of God; no matter whose fault it is, God is willing to intervene. He will surely glorify Himself through that challenge and you will be celebrated. I call you blessed.

Declare to yourself loud: my God is able.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Oh Lord my God, may I never be overwhelmed by the challenges of life. Always stand by me to pull me through, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

Feed the hungry and clothe the naked!

0

James 2:15‭-‬16 NLT: Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?

My dear friend in Christ, to be a follower of Jesus entails more than going to church every Sunday and paying your tithes or praying all the time. It also involves showing practical love to those around us. The Bible says that God allows the sun to shine on both the good and evil. There are people who don’t believe that certain people should be assisted to feed or even put on good clothing. They feel they deserve leftover foods and torn clothes. It is wickedness to give someone food that is spoilt or clothes that are torn.

As a child of God, you must be sensitive to the needs of those around you. They must not be related to you before you help them. Do not be too spiritual that you ignore their basic needs. The Bible pointed out today that it is useless saying to someone who needs food “be blessed” when you can actually give the person food. Some do this out of stinginess and unwilling to release what they have for fear of its not enough.

Proverbs 19:17 says “… When you give to the poor, you are actually lending to the Lord and He will surely repay you”. Therefore, I encourage you to take the task of helping others meet the basic needs of life very seriously irrespective of who is involved. Do not say, he is my enemy and so let him die. Rather, help such a person out the much you can and watch God bless you abundantly. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: I will care for the needy.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Heavenly Father, cause me never to ignore the poor when I can be of help to them, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

Our sufficiency is of God!

0

1 Timothy 6:6 AMP: But godliness actually is a source of great gain when accompanied by contentment [that contentment which comes from a sense of inner confidence based on the sufficiency of God].

My dear friend in Christ, what the scripture is saying in our text today is that serving God makes a person very rich if he is satisfied with what he has. Such a man that serves God and is satisfied, has a sense of inner confidence based on the sufficiency of God. Are you really confident that in God that you lack nothing? Do you really believe He will provide for you even when there seems to be no hope in sight?

Lack of inner confidence in God’s sufficiency has thrown many into the wanton acquisition of wealth. They have believed the lie from the devil that there is never enough money, house, cars, etc. The mindset of never enough will destroy your relationship with God. It is a direct report card to God that you don’t trust in His divine providence. The economic crunch arising from the Covid-19 pandemic has seen even believers engage in businesses they should never have done before now. But they give themselves a reason why they must do such things to earn a living.

This is the time your sense of sufficiency in God is being put to the test. When your rent is expiring and you are faced with violating God’s law just to make it. Or your loved one is sick, and you need money to pay for the bills and you are also faced with such a dilemma of standing with God or choosing the world’s system. Be careful about what you do and the decisions you make. Nothing can excuse your violation of God’s laws no matter the name you brand it. Always remind yourself that your God is all-sufficient. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: the lord is my sufficiency.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Heavenly Father, help me never to lose peace over what I don’t have now and be satisfied with what you have given me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.
