The Lord’s day is close at hand!

0
judgment

Joel 2:1 AMPC: BLOW THE trumpet in Zion; sound an alarm on My holy Mount [Zion]. Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of [the judgment of] the Lord is coming; it is close at hand.

My beloved friend in Christ, it appears many no longer care about the judgment day of the Lord, looking at the way they go about their lives. Many assume that the gospel of grace is a license to commit all sorts of evil before God and get away with it. This of course normally arises from poor knowledge of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and also refusing to grow in it. Today’s message is clearly reminding us to be careful as the day is fast approaching and the time is short.

I have news for you: a day is coming when we will account for what we have done. Look at what the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:10 AMP: For we [, believers will be called to account and] must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be repaid for what has been done in the body, whether good or bad [that is, each will be held responsible for his actions, purposes, goals, motives—the use or misuse of his time, opportunities and abilities].

I appeal to you my dear friend, take this warning seriously. Discover God’s purpose for your life and seek God’s help to fulfill it. Don’t go about living a careless life hoping that all is well after all Jesus has paid the price. You cannot do it without God’s grace. He is ready to help you. Simply say Holy Spirit, guide my thoughts, words, and actions. Help me to do the will of the Father. In Jesus Name. Amen. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: I will fulfill God’s purpose for my life here on earth.

PRAYERS
Spirit of the Living God, guide me as I seek to do the will of the Father. May I never give up on the Faith which was handed down to me. This year is my year of divine upliftment. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Do you have a personal experience of Him?

0

1 Samuel 3:7 AMP: Now Samuel did not yet know [or personally experience] the Lord , and the word of the Lord was not yet revealed [directly] to him.

My dear friend in Christ, the personal experience of Christ is one critical aspect of our faith that we all must desire to have in our lifetime. Many are carried away by the general experience of Him and even feel contented. But I bring you goodnews today. He wants you to have a personal experience of Him. You are unique to Him and as such, your experience of Him will be different from another person’s experience of Him. He wants to show you a dimension of Himself in a unique way.

Samuel in our text today only had a general experience of God and so couldn’t recognize His voice when He called out to Him. The Lord God came and stood nearby and called out to him. What a loving father God is. He called Him in a gentle and loving way. Sometimes we expect God to thunder His voice down from heaven in a spectacular way. This should not be your expectation. Open your heart to hear from Him.

You need to first believe that it is a reality that God will talk to you. If you don’t believe, you are closing the door to your personal experience with God. Through conversations, he will bring you into a deeper experience of Him by the things He will say to you and even ask you to do. This experience will cement your faith such that whatever happens, you will always stand to declare that God is God.

I encourage you to ask the Lord to speak to you and bring you into a personal experience of Him. Secondly, ask Him to help you respond to Him whenever He reaches out to you. Finally, don’t allow your mind to be always occupied with the worries of this life otherwise it will choke the word of God from reaching out to you and you won’t even know God is calling. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: I will answer when you call.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Heavenly Father, speak to me and take me into a deeper experience of you, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

Do not exploit His goodness!

0

1 Corinthians 10:9 AMPC: We should not tempt the Lord [try His patience, become a trial to Him, critically appraise Him, and exploit His goodness] as some of them did–and were killed by poisonous serpents; [Num. 21:5, 6.]

My dear friend in Christ, today’s message is very important because that’s exactly what many people are doing now in the name of grace message. They do things that they know it’s against God’s command and they quickly interject when you correct them that grace has paid the price. Testing the patience of the Lord is something no one should ever consider because destruction awaits such a move.

There are those who feel that Jesus will delay His coming and so they want to continue in their evil. Others keep telling you that when they are ready, they will consider repenting with the mindset that God is a patient God. You must have come across people who have decided that they will go ahead and commit evil and then return to the Lord for forgiveness. Such is simply putting the Lord to the test.

God is patient with us because of the love He has for us. He does not want anyone to perish, rather that we all should come to repentance. We must appreciate Him for His love and patience with us and do our best to do what He wants from us. The Israelites abused this privilege in the wilderness and they never survived it. Let us learn from their mistakes and do what is right. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: I will not put my God to test.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Heavenly Father, help me never to take your goodness in my life for granted, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged!

0

Proverbs 16:6 KJV: By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.

My dear friend in Christ, do not be deceived by those who tell you that all is well even when you misbehave and sin against God and that grace has covered it. From our text today, you can see that only by mercy and truth is iniquity purged. If you refuse to acknowledge your sins before God hoping that grace has covered it, you are not only lying to yourself, you are stopping yourself from obtaining forgiveness from God.

God cannot and will never tolerate any act of disobedience to His word. Paul writing said shall we continue in sin so that grace will abound. Romans 6:2. In another scripture, the bible says that ” You can’t whitewash your sins and get by with it; you find mercy by admitting and leaving them.”
Proverbs 28:13 MSG. Learn to admit when you go wrong before God, then, the forgiveness which Christ has purchased for you will be credited to you. Do not admit them with a mindset of going back to them, you won’t find mercy that way. It is one thing to make mistakes which is natural to every man, it is another thing to deliberately violate God’s laws hoping that mercy will speak for you. That would be injustice and God cannot be found in injustice.

Watch your actions, they matter before God. Do your best to align with the Holy Spirit to guide you for you cannot do it without His help. Many do not fear God anymore simply because He does not send fire and destruction immediately when we violate His laws. The Bible is reminding us today that by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil. Have the fear of God in you. I call you blessed.

Declare to yourself loud: I live by the mercy of God.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Oh Lord my God, be merciful unto me, a sinner, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

Let God have the final word!

0

Proverbs 16:1 ICB: People make plans in their hearts. But only the Lord can make those plans come true.

My dear friend in Christ, there are people who are very ambitious and creative. They imagine a alot and create wonderful ideas in their heart. Others simply wait for an idea to be created so that they can take it and run with it. One thing however that most people fail to realize is that there is a God who should be given the prerogative of having the final word.

Share your plans with the Lord , and you will succeed. Proverbs 16:3. How often do you remember the place of God in your planning. Do you know that you aught to share your plans with the lord from the very beginning. Some will keep God aside until they are done with their plans. God is interested in planning from the beginning with you. If you notice that your plans have things that will not please God, then you have to expunge it early enough. Do not look for a reason to retain it. Do not say that’s how others do it. You are not others. You are special to God.

Once you have your plans ready, with God with you all the way from the beginning of your plan, then put away fear and thoughts of failure. Remove all the “what ifs”… What if something bad happens, what if I fail, what if I don’t finish it… If you allow thoughts like these, you are giving room for Satan to infiltrate your plans. Believe God to bring your plans to reality. Do you know how bones are formed in a child in the womb? That’s how you don’t need to know how God will bring your plans into reality. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: God’s word is final authority in my life.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Heavenly Father, bless my plans for the glory of your name, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

Pay your tithes but don’t ignore justice!

0
study

Luke 11:42 NLT: “What sorrow awaits you Pharisees! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore justice and the love of God. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things.

My dear friend in Christ, there is a tone of misinformation going on about tithing in our world today. Some don’t even know why they should tithe. Others want tithes refunded. Some even say Jesus never mandated anyone to tithe. While some who tithe, wonder why their lives are not any better than others who do not care about tithing. Well, Jesus in our text put it in a simple manner saying “You should tithe, yes but don’t ignore the more important things”.

The more important things are your love for God and love for neighbors. You cannot claim to be a child of God who pays tithe while you are a wife-beater, a thief, a lier, a cheat, and so on. You don’t care how your neighbor feels, you are not interested in their pains or even regard God. You see injustice and throw your face the other way or even do it yourself. Jesus insists that these are the more important things. God is love. He who does not love does not have God. If that is the case, then what’s the use of your tithe?

When you tithe, you are honoring God, and its an act of love towards God. You cannot claim to love someone without giving out something in response to that love. The Bible says that God so love the world that He gave. God demonstrated that giving is an act of love. Some might say, what about offerings? Just as you give offerings to honor God, the same way you tithe to honor him. “One-tenth of the produce of the land, whether grain from the fields or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord and must be set apart to him as holy.
Leviticus 27:30

It’s difficult to give up 10% of your money (income) and so, some look for a way around it. It’s a sacrifice you should make for your God who is always providing for you, knowing that He will always provide even more. This is a kingdom principle just as offerings. It cannot be changed. Make up your mind to tithe from today just as Abraham did to Melkizadek (a typology of Christ) even before the law was given and also show love for God and your neighbor. Each time you tithe to any servant of Christ, you are tithing to Christ Himself who is now our high priest. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: my tithes belong to the Lord.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Heavenly Father, help me never again to ignore justice and love for my neighbor and always return one-tenth of all you have given me to you, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

Be clean on your inside!

0

Luke 11:39 NLT: Then the Lord said to him, “You Pharisees are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of greed and wickedness!

My dear friend in Christ, God is so wise that he hid the inside of a man and only Him can see it. He however left a clue as to what is hidden inside of a man and that clue is gotten by what comes out of the man through his words or actions. Fools think that they can deceive others by their outward appearance and pretense. Unknown to them that their words give them away and expose who they really are. Many people follow the part of putting up appearances just to hide their true nature. Only a small time and the truth will be out by what they say.

Why struggle to hide the evil and wickedness in your heart instead of letting go of them and turning to the lord? Jesus in our today’s text pointed out that people do everything to keep their outside clean before men but they are filthy on the inside with evil and wickedness. He encouraged them to clean up their inside by getting rid of the evil in their hearts through their acts of love for God and neighbor. He said unto them: “You are foolish. The same One who made what is outside also made what is inside. So give what is in your cups and dishes to the poor. Then you will be fully clean.”
Luke 11:40‭-‬41

From this day forward, make a resolve to always clean up your inside just as you take your bath every day. Don’t allow back-log of evil to remain in your heart. Get rid of anything that will contaminate your heart. Know that God Almighty is watching you. Even when you think others may not know your secrets, He knows and He is giving you an opportunity to repent and turn to Him from your evil ways. I call you blessed.

Declare to yourself loud: I am clean inside.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Heavenly Father, reveal to me all that I need to get rid of in my heart that I may be clean, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

My house is a house of prayer!

0

Mark 11:17 KJV: And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.

My dear friend in Christ, the physical building designated as God’s house is a symbol of God’s real house which is the body of Christ. Look at what the Bible says in John 2:21 “But the temple Jesus meant was his own body.” This is what He meant when he said tear down this temple and I will raise it up in three days. Now that we are His children, our bodies are also the temple of the living God.

Therefore, what you do with this temple matters before God. Just as the physical temple must be respected and treated as sacred, the real temple which is our bodies must be respected and treated as such. It should never be used for anything outside of God’s plan and character. Jesus said it should be known as a house of prayer.

When you pray all the time, you are fulfilling the prophetic statement that God’s house shall be called a house of prayer. Therefore, evil desires, negative spirits can no longer have a dwelling space in your bodies. When you are always on fire in prayers, nothing evil can remain in your body. This is because you will always be attracting the presence of God in your body. The contrary is the case for those who do not pray always. They allow evil to thrive in their bodies. This results in unpleasant things happening in their lives.

As a believer, make it a point of duty to always pray not just once or twice in a day but as often as you can. Drop the religious mindset that my morning and evening prayer is enough. Pray in your office, pray in your school, pray in the market etc. The enemy will find no place in your house. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: I will pray at all times.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Precious Holy Spirit, help me never to desecrate your house, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

Let go of the animosity!

0

Matthew 5:23‭-‬24 NLT: “So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.

My dear friend in Christ, it is imperative that you let go of the animosity you have against anyone. Our world is witnessing an unprecedented level of hate for one another. People constantly find reasons to hate instead of love. People get angry over the most insignificant things even inside the church of God. Lack of forgiveness and reconciliation is potent cancer that will eventually eat you up over time. It is usually unnoticed until the havoc is done.

For this reason, the son of man (Jesus) was made manifest to reconcile us back to God by his sufferings and shameful death on the cross. He did it for you, why can’t you do it for others? It is tantamount to wickedness and injustice if the Lord has forgiven you and yet you refuse to forgive others for whatever reason. There is no justification anymore for unforgiveness no matter the gravity of the offense by your neighbor. It all ends here in this world. You will not take your unforgiving spirit with you to heaven. It only condemns you to eternal damnation.

That is why Jesus pointed out that even God will reject your gift no matter how huge your sacrifice is. He commands you to go and reconcile before coming back to him. No child of God should harbor unforgiveness beyond the end of the day. As difficult as it is, you must fight it. It is also a way of dealing with your pride and killing of self which is a major hindrance to your relationship with God. You can be angry once in a while but always deal with it. No one will ever satisfy you completely in every way. Always remember that man was created to be inadequate and so prone to error unless fully aligned with the Holy Spirit. Until then, please manage each other’s excesses and God will bless you. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: I will not let unforgiveness destroy me.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Precious Holy Spirit, help me to always forgive those who hurt me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

I want justice, not praise!

0

Amos 5:23‭-‬24 NLT: Away with your noisy hymns of praise! I will not listen to the music of your harps. Instead, I want to see a mighty flood of justice, an endless river of righteous living.

My dear friend in Christ, the character of the God we serve is not hidden. He loves justice and hates iniquity. Looking at our world today, many people spend a lot of time trying to impress God with their praise, music, hymns, and so on. But after that, they return to their normal life of injustice and unrighteousness. Our text today noted that God will turn away his eyes from your music and praise if you don’t stop injustice. He values your just dealings and your right living more than praise.

In the quest to amass wealth, many businesses have device means of cheating customers. Look at what the Bible says in Proverbs 11:1 “A false balance and dishonest business practices are extremely offensive to the Lord, But an accurate scale is His delight.” The word “extremely offensive” should tell you the gravity of the offense and why you must avoid such things. Don’t join others and say “that’s how it is done in this line of business” thereby giving yourself an excuse for evil.

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you never to get involved in dealings that will cheat others to enrich you. The Lord has provided all your needs in Christ Jesus. There is no need for cheating others. It’s a mentality of not enough and so you want to grab and acquire more than you need. With God, there is no insufficiency. Believe that God is your ultimate provider. When you engage in practices that seek to cheat others, you are telling God that what He is giving you is not enough and so you want to cheat others to have more. This should not be so as a child of God. Finally, teach others this truth about God and He will surely reward you. Shalom.

Declare to yourself loud: I will not cheat others in my business.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Precious Holy Spirit, keep me away from every form of injustice, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

Allow the Lord to move ahead of you!

0

2 Samuel 5:24 NLT: When you hear a sound like marching feet in the tops of the poplar trees, be on the alert! That will be the signal that the Lord is moving ahead of you to strike down the Philistine army.”

My dear friend in Christ, David was a very successful King during his reign over Israel. It is not news that he was greatly assisted by God Almighty otherwise he wouldn’t have been that successful. Looking at his life, you could see that he never went to war without consulting God. Also, he always recognize the fact that he was incapable of succeeding without help from God. It is one thing to be religious about seeking God’s help, it is another thing to actually acknowledge that you cannot do it on your own.

Many people seek God’s direction while having a second option on the table. David was never like that. Furthermore, when you succeed, do you immediately acknowledge that it was God who did it or do you quickly announce to others how smart you are? Look at what David said when he won the battle in
2 Samuel 5:20 “So David went to Baal-perazim and defeated the Philistines there. “The Lord did it!” David exclaimed. “He burst through my enemies like a raging flood!” So he named that place Baal-perazim (which means “the Lord who bursts through”). “

I don’t know the battles of life that you are currently contending with. It could be marriage crises, financial crisis, business ideas, academic or even career issues. Allow God to go ahead of you. Learn to wait for the signal to proceed from the lord. Do not be in a hurry. Don’t ever imagine that God is wasting your time. He told David to wait for the sign and know that He has gone ahead of him to hand over the enemies to him. God will go ahead of you in Jesus Name and hand over your enemies to you. Amen.

Declare to yourself loud: I will wait for the Lord’s signal.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Oh Lord my God, go ahead of me and deliver me from my enemies, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.
