Matthew 3:8 AMP: So produce fruit that is consistent with repentance [demonstrating new behavior that proves a change of heart, and a conscious decision to turn away from sin];

My dear friend in Christ, it is good for one to declare that he / she has repented but it will only be complete when the declaration is shown in action. One cannot claim to have encountered God and his life does not show it. The Bible is letting us know that we must prove that we have really repented by our change of hearts and behavior. The fruits we bear must be consistent with our believe.

Jesus said in Matthew 7:16 “by their fruits, you shall know them…” meaning that the fruits you produce is a direct report card of your state of mind and believe in God. Do not decieve yourself saying “all that matters is my belief and not my actions”. Well, your action matter. Only God can see your belief but man can see your fruits and give glory to God.

You need to make a conscious decision to turn away from sin and anything that offends God. It should be a deliberate move to remain on the side of the truth no matter what you are facing. All you need is to make an attempt and you will see God take over and help you accomplish your mission in life. But first, you must make yourself available before God can step in. Be strong in the Lord and do your best to serve Him.

Declare to yourself loud: my actions are consistent with my beliefs.

1. Precious Holy Spirit, take over my actions, and make me produce fruits that are pleasant to you, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.

Matthew 7:15-23
