Job 31:5 NCV: “If I have been dishonest or lied to others, then let God weigh me on honest scales. Then he will know I have done nothing wrong.
Job in our text today tried to justify himself before God saying that he has done no wrong. He cited numerous laws he has kept in chapter 31 of Job. Thinking that has made him right before God.
Many times we find ourselves in the place of Job, trying to explain to God how much of his words we have kept and the number of works we have done for the kingdom, therefore, our prayers deserve answers.
But we tend to forget what the Bible says in Galatians 2:16..KJV
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
This resonates with the words of Christ that without him, we can do nothing. John 15:5.
Just as was discussed in yesterday’s topic, let us come to him and find rest. Only then can we be justified for he is our righteousnesses. 1 Corinthians 1:30.
Declare to yourself loud: I surrender all to you. Hallelujah.
Heavenly father, thank you for your gift of righteousness. Hallelujah. Amen.
