Ezra 7:10 AMP: For Ezra had set his heart (resolved) to study and interpret the Law of the Lord, and to practice it and teach His statutes and ordinances in Israel.
My dear friend in Christ, today’s scripture is a template of what the life of a believer should be. That is to be determined to study the word of God, practice it, and teach others to do the same. The mandate to study, practice, and teach is not meant for certain persons alone rather it’s meant for everyone in the body of Christ.
The primary reason for the coming of the Holy Spirit into our heart is captured in Acts 1:8″ “But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses [to tell people about Me] both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.”
This implies that the spirit of God in us is not to be caged or kept as private property rather we are to yield ourselves to Him and allow Him to help us in studying, practicing, and teaching others the word of God. Don’t forget that the essence is for men to be saved; God is not pleased over the death of a sinner. Ezekiel 18:23.
If you study our text further, you will discover how the hand of the lord was with Ezra for devoting himself to the study, practice, and teaching of God’s Word. He was highly favored even by the king himself. Make up your mind today to study, practice, and teach others the word of God to the end that men might come to repentance and be saved. Shalom.
Declare to yourself loud: the law of the lord is my guide.
1. Heavenly Father, help me to dedicate my life to you through the study, practice, and teaching of your word to the world, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
