2 Timothy 2:18 NLT: They have left the path of truth, claiming that the resurrection of the dead has already occurred; in this way, they have turned some people away from the faith.
My dear friend in Christ, it is obvious that people no longer have faith that the resurrection of the dead on the day of judgment will ever happen. This can be seen in the lifestyle of people of this generation. They live as though all they can see and have here on earth is all there is. Today’s scripture is pointing to those who go about deceiving others that there won’t be any resurrection of the dead and that it has already occurred.
Surely, all the dead will be raised back to life on the day of judgment either to everlasting life or to everlasting condemnation depending on how you live while you were alive. There is no second chance for anyone that dies. The only opportunity you have is now.
If you have lost loved one, do not weep as those who have no hope. There is hope that for believers as captured in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves.”
If you have anyone around you, a brother, sister, relation, friend, enemy, and neighbor who is not born again and an unbeliever, now is the time to redeem such a soul. Otherwise, such a soul will be lost forever when he/she dies. Shalom.
Declare to yourself loud: I believe in the resurrection of the dead.
1. Merciful Father, open my eyes to the truth about the resurrection of the dead and cause unbelievers to repent before it’s too late, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
