1 Corinthians 1:18 NCV: The teaching about the cross is foolishness to those who are being lost, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

For a while, we have been learning about how God saved the world by sending his Son to die for us on the cross and for those who believe, they are saved. To many, it doesn’t sound reasonable for God to wrought salvation through death on the cross. But as today’s text reads, it is the power of God unto salvation to those who are being saved.

God deliberately chooses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. This shows that man’s wisdom is foolishness unto God. Without the death of Christ on the cross, there is no forgiveness of sins or salvation.

Therefore, there is no need trying to understand what God did for us on the cross, we are only called to believe that he has achieved salvation for us through his actions on the cross and we will instantly gain salvation and freedom from sin.

Declare to yourself loud: I believe that you died for me on the Cross to gain salvation and forgiveness of sins for me. Thank you, Jesus. Hallelujah.

Merciful Father, Christ’s death on the cross is a demonstration of how much you love me, help me to love you and my neighbors as you loved me. In Jesus Name. Amen.
