John 12:49 CEV: I don’t speak on my own. I say only what the Father who sent me has told me to say.
My beloved friend in Christ, this passage has simply brought to light one of the great secrets of Jesus’s success while He was on earth. He was careful about the things he said and did. He told his people plainly that He only says what His Father told him to say. Meaning that He was always listening to the Father and following His instructions and guidance.
No one who follows the instructions and guidance of the Lord will ever miss the way or fail in life. Man is suffering unnecessarily because we have not been following His precepts. We have gone our own ways and spoke our own words instead of relying solely on our master.
Today’s call is to return back to God and decide never to say or do anything that is not in line with his precepts and words. Let us find His ways in His words and pray for the grace to follow it. Even when we are confronted by situations that seem strange, let us seek the wisdom of what to say and do from His words alone and not from man’s wisdom or other sources. I call you blessed.
Declare to yourself loud: Your word is a lamp unto my path.
My Father and my God, lead me always in your word. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
