2 Thessalonians 3:6 AMP : Now we command you, believers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and by His authority, that you withdraw and keep away from every brother or sister who leads an undisciplined life and does not live in accordance with the tradition and teaching that you have received from us.
My dear friend in Christ, who are those you regard and stay close to as friends? Do they believe in the lord Jesus and follow His teachings? If no, you have to reconsider and avoid close association with them. Your friends can be your sphere of influence. When they do things that are not worthy of your calling as a believer, they expect you to join them. If you don’t, you are stigmatized and pressured into defiling yourself.
Keeping friends that are unbelievers or even believers who are living contrary to God’s words will affect your relationship with your God. Paul in his writing today adjourn the brethren to stay away from believers who do not follow the teachings of the lord. If you are to grow in the faith, you must choose your friends wisely. Those who have positive effects on your relationship with your God. Those who will encourage you to pray, study God’s word and even live right before God.
Ask God every day of your life to connect you with those who will lead you closer to him and help you fulfill your purpose on earth. Also disconnect you from friends who seek to pull you away from Him. Shalom.
Declare to yourself loud: I will choose my friends wisely by the help of the Holy Spirit.
1. Oh Lord my God, lead me to friends who will have positive impact in my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Please add your personal intentions.
